Building for the Future – 1957

As the community continued to grow, the second church soon became too small to meet the spiritual and educational needs of the parish.
The vision of a larger and more permanent sanctuary became a shared mission. The minutes of the General Assembly from that era reflect one recurring theme: the urgent need to build a new church.
Through sacrificial giving and steadfast commitment, the parish raised the necessary funds and selected a new site. In April 1957, the new Transfiguration of Christ Church was opened — a beautiful and dignified house of worship designed to serve generations to come.
It was during this period that the parish school expanded and ministries flourished. The new church became not only a place of worship, but a center of faith, education, and community life.
The spirit of those who came before us ensured that Orthodoxy would not merely survive — but thrive.
