The Parish Council serves alongside the parish priest in the stewardship, administration, and support of the spiritual mission of our community.
A Ministry of Stewardship and Service
The Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council is an elected body of lay members who serve in cooperation with the parish priest to oversee the administrative, financial, legal, and ministry affairs of the parish.
As a ministry of the Church, Parish Council members must be in good standing and active in the worship and sacramental life of the parish. Their service reflects both responsibility and spiritual commitment.
The Priest serves as the head of the Parish and guides the Parish Council in fulfilling its sacred responsibilities. According to the Uniform Parish Regulations (UPR Chapter 2, Article XII), Parish Council members are called to:
• Attend divine services regularly
• Participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church
• Steward parish property and finances responsibly
• Support parish ministries and programs
• Set an example of Christian life within the community
To serve on the Parish Council is not merely administrative — it is a calling rooted in faith and dedication to Christ and His Church.

A Legacy of Leadership Since 1926
From the founding of the parish in 1926, leadership has played a vital role in shaping the identity and direction of the Transfiguration of Christ community.
George Tsitseras served as the first President of the newly formed community. Under his leadership and the dedication of early parishioners, the foundations of the parish were firmly established.
A parish that steadily grows and moves forward reflects the integrity and commitment of its leadership. Throughout the decades, devoted men and women have stepped forward to guide the parish through construction, expansion, educational growth, and renewed ministry.
Their service has strengthened the community for nearly a century.

As we celebrate our Centennial, we give thanks for the faithful leaders who have served this parish from its earliest days.
With gratitude for the past and hope for the future, the Parish Council continues its mission of stewardship and service for generations to come.
